Facebook boss Zuckerberg is very concerned about the success of Chinese tech companies and discussed this with president Trump at a dinner. This reports the Wall Street Journal based on sources. Private meeting was supposed to take place in October last year. At dinner, Zuckerberg would have stressed to Trump that the rise of Chinese internet companies such as Bytedance (TikTok's parent company) and Tencent (WeChat, among others) is a threat to American business. The Facebook Facebook founder says Trump should be more concerned with that Chinese threat than with curbing Facebook. According to the American business newspaper, Zuckerberg also discussed this issue with some senators. Trump signed a decree in early August prohibiting transactions with TikTok and WeChat. Since then, Microsoft and Oracle have been in the race to take over TikTok's assets. In response to the article in The Wall Street Journal, a Facebook spokesman says that Zuckerberg 'cannot remember' discussing the issue of TikTok with Trump. He always retreats to such amnesia. | |
