"Vkontakte", "Odnoklassniki", "Mail.ru" and "Yandex" are banned in Ukraine
The decision was taken at the end of April. Sanctions imposed in relation to search engine “Yandex”. This means the freezing of assets, limiting trade operations, preventing the withdrawal of capital from Ukraine, stop the execution of economic and financial liabilities, restriction or discontinuance of telecommunications services and use of telecommunication networks of general use. This also applies to the Russian “Yandex” and “Yandex.Ukraine”.
While the term is limited to three years. The sanctions apply including the prohibition on Internet service providers to provide services for user access to resources and services Mail.ru.

Mail.ru Group will not adjust the projections on financial plans because of the sanctions, the Ukraine, as that country's share of the total business of the company is small. This is stated in the message Mail.ru Group.

There are at the moment is 400 Russian enterprises and companies in the sanctions list. Recently introduced, according to the National Security Council and Defense of Ukraine (NSDC),it was made to protect the citizens of Ukraine and to strengthen the cybersecurity of the country.

According to various estimates, users of locked platforms are the 25 million inhabitants of Ukraine.
