ESET antivirus company specialists have officially announced about new unknown virus which attacks all fans of popular World of Tanks game. New harmful program is called TeslaCrypt. It acts in a very unusual form cyphering important files which are contained on users’ hard disk and then establish fee for their deciphering. In other words ransom is required in case user wants to get his files back. Sometimes the amount of ransom can be up to $1 000.

According to information provided by Naked Science new virus infects devices using several methods. Users can be infected via e-mail and spam letters which contain harmful attachments as well as via messages with links. Users who follow that link get to a website which redirects them to another page which contains harmful code. Sometime later it cyphers up to 185 different files of different type that are kept on hard disk. They also include data and saves from different video games. Then users receive message with the amount of ransom they need to pay to get their files back.

It should be noted that TeslaCrypt is focused mainly on World of Tanks fans as well as of Duty, Minecraft, StarCraft 2, Skyrim, World of Warcraft, League of Legends players and many more.
