Company Twitter announced an unexpectedly high increase in the number of users of the short message service in the first quarter of this year. Their number increased by 14% compared to last year, or 9 million people.

This news caused a rise in the value of shares of the company at 11%. Last year the number of regular Twitter users stagnated.

But the company's revenues fell for the first time since entering the stock market due to the reduction in the number of advertising.

The growing popularity of the service, according to analysts, is, in particular, from President Donald Trump, who regularly posts on Twitter their messages, attracting millions of new readers and commentators. New users are also attracted to the feature of the live video.
