Government of Russian federation may allow selling cigarettes in news stalls as it used to be in past. According to unconfirmed information some Ministries are ready to approve of this initiative that was offered by representatives of Regional Media Expert Committee. It is noted that such measures are taken in order to save some selling points and news stalls which are not in demand nowadays. People prefer buying newspapers and magazines in other places. On the other hand initiators of new resolution are sure that smokers are very likely to buy a couple of newspapers and magazines along with a pack of cigarettes. Such measures can also help to develop this business branch in future. According to the latest statistics provided by experts about 30% of all news stalls have been closed in Russia. At the same time if tobacco will be sold in those spots, it will bring not more than 10% of revenue to their owners. On the other hand it will help to increase the level of traffic and popularity of news stalls as it used to be. As a rule smokers buy a couple of newspapers together with a pack of cigarettes. |
