The UK will close all coal plants by 2025
Britain is pursuing a policy based on making energy secure. They are planning to stop using coal plants as coal is considered to be the most polluting fossil. Gas and nuclear plants will take the place of coal plants as their cleaner alternatives.

These measures contribute to the British leadership in solving the climate crisis. The British government demonstrates an example of environmentally friendly policy and attracts investors by positioning itself as the right place to invest in clean energy.

As for the present, coal plants still provide a quarter of the whole amount of electricity in the UK. This number should be decreased to meet climate commitments. The last coal plant in the country is expected to be closed by 2025. This date was announced last year, and the consultation document that contains this information and clarifies the details was published last week on Wednesday, November 9.
