Sergey is a teenager who gets to a special boarding school for deaf children. This educational establishment is managed and controlled by criminal organization which consists of senior students. At first Sergey is obliged to follow all the rules of the Tribe. But after he falls in love with Anna who is a girlfriend of top boy of the gang, he faces the need to break the rules and fight for his love. The main feature of the movie is the fact that it is mainly based on pantomime without any subtitles, music and sound effects. The budget of this film is $1 300 000. The project was implemented with financial support of Goskino Ukraine, Hubert Bals which is aimed on supporting young and talented directors and Fund and Rinat Ahmetov Fund. “The Tribe” was directed by Ukrainian Miroslav Slaboshpitsky who is also screen play writer. He was born in 1974 in the family of famous Ukrainian writer Mikhail Slaboshpitsky. Director was inspired to shoot “The Tribe” by his own short movie called “Deafness”. Assoon as he started working on his new film, he got necessary financial support provided by Hubert Bals Fund. “The Tribe”movie will be available in 35 countries all over the world. They include France, Denmark, Japan, Netherlands, the USA, New Zealand and many more. Every distributor who wants to purchase this film will have to sing an agreement regarding absence of any kind of sounds, subtitles and music. At the same time after signing this agreement distributors are not allowed showing dubbed movie for the public. |
