The state Department reports on the progress of the Russian Federation in the fight against money laundering. Thus, in the report of the state Department of the United States of America it is reported that in Russia last year was recorded progress in the fight against the laundering of proceeds of crime. The document says that the Russian Central Bank estimates the loss of the state through fictitious transactions of 1.49 billion dollars in 2015 and 0.3 billion in the first half of 2016.

It is also noted that the Russian government sought in every way to improve their law enforcement and legal base in the framework of combating money laundering, updating and amending a number of laws to improve their effectiveness. And, as the data show, they got it, some progress is still noticeable, despite the fact that money-laundering remains a serious problem for the Russian Federation.

In the document particular attention is drawn to the fact that in Russia quite a large number of migrant workers who transfer money to other countries, and not everybody is doing it through the official system, we operate the illegal system, and it is a great tool for money laundering.

The government of the Russian Federation has not yet commented on the report of the US state Department.
