The media discovered Trump’s plans to appoint his critic as the Energy Minister
The US Ministry of Energy is responsible for the US energy policy and controls country’s nuclear programme.

Bloomberg reports about Trump’s decision to appoint Rick Perry to that post as well with a link to four sources, familiar with the decision-making process. A Monday evening Trump has held a meeting with Perry in New York, on which he asked him to serve as Energy Minister and Perry took over the post. Reuters has also reported earlier on the future appointment.

During the electoral campaign in 2012 Rick Perry proposed eliminating of The Ministry of Energy, which Trump offers him to Chair, as Reuters reminds. During the electoral dispute in November 2011 Perry couldn’t remember the key provisions of the reform, proposed by him.

“And I will tell you,” Perry said, “it is three agencies of government when I get there that are gone. Commerce, Education, and the … what's the third one there? Let's see."

However, despite the opponents’ attempts to prompt him, Perry hadn’t remembered which agency he was going to abolish. As he said, “I can’t—the third one. Sorry. Oops”. Later he said in interview: “From time to time, you may forget about an agency that you are gonna zero out,”

The Trump has stated about his intention to appoint the Goldman Sachs’ president Garry Cohn as his economic advisor and the head of National economic Council, and an executive director and Chairman of ExxonMobil Rex Tillerson as the secretary of state.
