Tesla has unveiled its long-awaited, most powerful 100 kWh battery. It is predicted that the new battery will make Model S the fastest car in production globally, Oilprice.com says citing the company’s officials. At the same time Tesla adds that objectively the Model S P100D is the third-fastest car in terms of acceleration, but the Porsche 918 Spyder and LaFerarri are no longer produced. With the help of the new battery Model S is be able to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.5 seconds. Besides, the car is able to travel from 315 to 613 km, according to various cycles. In its press release Tesla Motors mentioned that it makes the Model S P11D the first electric vehicle to pass the 300-mile threshold. The company noted that the new powerful battery will also be available for the buyers of its P90D Model S. They will be able to upgrade their vehicles by adding the new battery for an additional charge of US$10,000-20,000 depending on whether the car has been delivered to them or not. |
