Spices are Included in the List of Prohibited Drugs in Russia

Government of Russian Federation included 5 more substances which can be found in synthetic cannabis. Such information has appeared on the official website of the Cabinet of Ministers.

It should be noted that government started to pay a lot of attention to the problem of synthetic drugs after numerous occasions of poisoning. It all started in September 2014. More than 2 000 people suffered from synthetic cannabis which is also known as Spice. 40 of them died. Federal Drug Control Service managed to input a ban of substances which can be found in those synthetic drugs. However producers and dealers found new combinations of substances in order to avoid this ban. At the beginning of February 2015 Russian government input a ban on promoting and selling Spices. Violation of these laws could result in imprisonment.

Representatives of the Cabinet of Ministers said that new compounds and substances that can be found in synthetic cannabis were included in the list of prohibited drugs in order to prevent drug producers and dealers from poisoning Russian citizens.

5 new formulas appeared in that list. For example, 1-pentyl-1H-indazole-3-carboxamide is among them.
It should be noted that production, selling, reproduction, purchasing, storage, transportation, import and export of Spices on the territory of Russia considers administrative responsibilities as well as fines up to $500 as well as 2 years of imprisonment.
