Russians will be given light weight legally. Ministry of Industry and Sales of Russian Federation has worked out new standards of short weight. It is known that project that has been worked out by the official department is actually ready to be launched and will be implemented in the nearest future. Its main idea is to determine the limits of the short weight that should not be considered as cheating. According to new project and new standards sellers are allowed to give their purchasers light weight which does not exceed 10 grams. If the short weight is higher than this limit, it will be considered as violation and cheating towards consumers. Violators will be charged serious fines which can be over $1000 for legal entities. At the same time in accordance to this particular law if a product weighs from 2 to 10 kilos, short weight can be not more than 10 grams. In case a product weighs from 500 grams to 1 kilo the short weight should not exceed 5 grams. At the same time many experts say that such project is extremely important considering rather tough economic situation in the country. Such situation increases the risk of giving purchasers light weight which includes not only small groceries but also large product markets. Some sellers are eager to earn more by cheating and using short weight which is necessary to regulate and stimulate. It should also be noted that this is the first time when such short weight limitations are implemented in Russian Federation. | |
