Russian Citizens can Visit Turkey with Internal Passports Only
Russian citizens will be able to enter territory of Turkey with internal passports only in the nearest future. Such statement was made by the Head of Turkish Ministry of Internal Affairs Mevlut Cavusoglu. He said that Russian citizens will be allowed to visit country without suing travelling passports. At the same time the official noted that cancellation of the visa regime between Russia and Turkey can also be implemented in the nearest future.

“We have already cancelled visa regime between Turley and 70 other countries. However, we think it is not enough for our development. That is why we are planning to proceed with cancelation of visa regime between other countries from Schengen zone within 2.5-3 years”, - said the official.

Turkish Minister also paid attention to the fact that the government is making everything possible for providing foreign tourists with free access on the territory of the country. For this purpose special system of electronic visas has already been launched. According to the Minister’s report more than 6.5 million tourists have already obtained those electronic visas. It results in reduction of queues in airports. People only need to use special online service without leaving their own apartments. Obtaining electronic visa takes not more than 3 minutes.

It should also be mentioned that simplified visa regime between Russia and Turkey came into force in 2011. It lets both Turkish and Russian citizens stay on the territory of each country for 30 days without any additional visas and formalities.
