Russia legalizes cryptocurrency trading on approved exchanges

Deputy Finance Minister Alexei Moiseev has pointed out that the government is seeking to provide a great oversight.

This news may come as a surprise, especially given the recent rhetoric of other Russian officials in recent months. However, Moiseev has consistently maintained that Bitcoin would be legalized, albeit with restrictions.

The bill would allow using more open cryptocurrency trading and investment in Russia. Other countries have begun to issue applications either by legalizing or by prohibiting cryptocurrencies.

The Ministry of Finance is still considering which exchanges would be approved. Moiseev pointed out that the issue of exchange is still "currently not resolved", but the general legalization is now "more or less clear".

Many in the industry see in Russia the addition of legalized cryptocurrencies as the first among many, as Blockchain and cryptocurrencies continue to eliminate the boundaries between the parties through the networks of trust.
