Russia got Permission on Exploring the Bottom of the Pacific Ocean

Russia got permission to proceed with exploring works of the bottom of the Pacific Ocean within 15 years. Scientists will mainly deal with examination of ore minerals within area of 3 thousand square kilometers. According to information provided by TASS agreement between Russian Ministry of Natural Resources and International Seabed Authority has already been signed. According to Deputy Minister of Natural Resources Denis Hramov such agreement will let scientists proceed with exploration of ferromanganese crust oceanic formations in the area which consists of 150 blocks 20 square kilometers each. This area is located near Magellan Mountains of the Pacific Ocean. According to information provided by set-info.ru Russia will be able to explore and examine these regions. At the same time the country will owe 50 the most perspective blocks. Hramov also paid attention to the fact that according to experts’ evaluation and forecasts the approximate amount of natural resources in this region can be up to 170million tons which is 35 million tons of guaranteed supplies. On the other hand according to signed agreement Russia can only proceed with research and exploring. It is not allowed mining. The work will be launched on 5 kilometers depth which is even more complicated in comparison with exploration of space. At the same time this region can turn out to be the main source of natural resources in the nearest future. That is why exploration work is vital not only for Russia but also for the whole world. That is why scientists will create special complex which will be able to move on 5-6 kilometers depth and transport natural resources up.
