Product Prices are Unreasonably High in Nizhny Novgorod Region, Russia
Department of Federal Antimonopoly Service in Nizhny Novgorod region has determined several episodes of unreasonably increased product prices. The information was provided by the Head of Antimonopoly Service Mikhail Teodorovich.

The Head of the department paid attention to the fact that practically all participants of the market are operating legally in accordance with all rules and standards. At the same time some retailers sell their products twice more expensive in comparison with others. That is why department is working hard in order to determine such violations. This is essential measure taking into consideration economic sanctions against Russia.

Teodorovich said that potatoes, onion, bread and apples are the most common products with unreasonable increased prices. The Head of department has witnessed a perfect example of such increase while visiting one of the local shops where bread cost 2.5 times higher. The same thing is with butter which is 24% more expensive in some shops!
Entrepreneurs say that such situation is mainly due to the increase of business costs. At the same time price for using utilities and electricity has also increased along with product price which is established by suppliers.

The most common places where prices are unreasonably high include trading points near metro and railway stations, trading centers and huge bus stops.
