Government of Nizhny Novgorod region started implementing several new projects which are dedicated to the Victory Day.

Preparation for 70th Second World War Anniversary has started in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia

In accordance with information provided by the Deputy Head of City Administration Maria Holkina, new set of events and projects has already been worked out and approved. All these events and projects are dedicated to the upcoming celebration of the Victory Day on the 9th of May 2015. A lot of interesting and exciting actions will take place. Citizens and guests of Nizhny Novgorod will be able to take part in all of them.

The latest statistics has shown that there are 22 562 Second World War veterans in Nizhny Novgorod. 2 226 of them have taken place in military actions. They will be congratulated on this big date starting from April 2015. This is due to the fact that not all veterans will be present on the 9th of May celebration.

In addition 70 veterans will be awarded with Honored Veteran of Nizhny Novgorod titles and get 5 000 rubles money award.

Representatives of Labor and Work Department have also worked out special program that is called “Social First Aid”. This program includes installing of special alarm system in veterans’ apartments. They will be able to use this system in case they need to call a doctor or their health care provider.

All memorial complexes, monuments, obelisks, and graves will be restored in the capital of Volga region. Moreover the Eternal Flame on Zhukov square will also be restored as well as the Eternal Flame that is located in Moskovsky district. New monuments to marshal Zhukov, marshal Kazakov and Colonel-General of Technical Troops Vasily Grabin will also be installed.

In accordance with information that is available on the official website of Nizhny Novgorod, all preparation works will be completed by the 30rd of April. They include reconstruction and restoration works as well as landscaping, installing street illumination and decorating buildings for the upcoming celebration.
