Popular Russian Opera Singer Yelena Obraztsova died

76-year old People’s Artist of USSR and famous opera singer Yelena Obraztsova died on the 12th of January. The information has been officially confirmed by Fund of Musical Art Support.

Natalia Ignatenko who is the head of this fund said: “We all feel terrible sorry because of Yelena Obraztsova death. She died almost half an hour ago. Her heart stopped beating”. That time Ignatenko said that nothing was known regarding the possible date of funerals. Her body was supposed to be delivered to Moscow.

It should be noted that press-secretary of opera singer reported about the fact that doctors advised her to leave Russia for Germany because of the climate in November 2014. She had severe health problems which resulted in her death.

Yelena Obraztsova was born in St. Petersburg on the 7th of November 1939. She was a soviet and Russian opera singer, actress and teacher. She was honored as People’s Artist in USSR in 1976. She was announced to be the best Carmen ever during the festival in honor of 100th anniversary of Carmen opera in Spain in 1975.
