Special photo exhibition is opened in Russian Museum of Photography. The main aim of this exhibition is to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the First World War. The event is taking place with support of Ministry of Culture in Nizhny Novgorod and City Administration Department of Culture. This project is called “War, Mercy and Love”. The information is provided by the official website of museum. The main aim of the event is to encourage people for mercy, loyalty and love. That is why all visitors will be able to see different photos from those horrible times as well as letters from soldiers, post cards and documents which prove that this war was one of the most dramatic. The names of major authors of these old yellow photos are unknown. At the same time pictures show us the inner side of those horrible events. In spite of all those tears, fear and death there has always been a place for mercy, hope and love. Alliance Francaise French Cultural Center in Nizhny Novgorod will present a unique diary of Officer Georges Barbier who was captured by Russian soldiers. He wrote about his everyday life in captivity together with other prisoners. But the main thing is the fact how he described kind and loyal attitude of Russian soldiers towards him. At the same time he managed to make friends with other prisoners who supported him in such horrible conditions. The original diary will also be presented on the exhibition. Everyone will get a chance to get acquainted with it. The event will end on the 22th of September. |
