Pentagon Set to enforce "Preventative Cyberstrikes" as new level of ignorance
State activity in the technical fields are generally looking ridiculous and incompetent. Thank God most of the state initiatives are meant to demo only. It serves to keep electoral base dry and warm.

The US Department of Defense is expanding its powers to confront hackers working for foreign governments. According to the new stance, the defense department will be granted the powers to launch "preventative" cyberattacks.

Preventatives strikes in general is a murky paradigm which may justify virtually any aggression and intrusion of the sovereignty. The "preventative cyberattack" sets a whole new level of nonsense as there is no real methodology to distinguish between 'hackers' and 'hackers working for foreign governments'. But true treasure of nonsense is yet to come:

The Pentagon has a new stance to "defend forward", which will allow the US military to prevent and stop cyberattacks, the channel says, "to disrupt or halt malicious cyber activity at its source, including activity that falls below the level of armed conflict."

You can't defend by attacking. Let's look at some typical scenario: DDOS attack. Let's suppose some US general "knows" in advance that there will be DDOS on some US government resource. What will be preventative answer? To begin the DOS? But how one supposed to know who is the DOS originator?

The new defense strategy assumes the creation of "a more lethal force" of a detachment of hackers to inflict cyberattacks first.

The term "lethal force" is inserted for farmers only. It comes directly from the 70's movies as bad computers zap people with blue rays of death.

The everyday Network operations is based on the technical rules, known as RFC. According to RFC the network coordinator (NOC) is obliged to cut off the malicious network. So, formally, NOC should react by disabling the brilliant plan to "preventative cyberattack" any other system by cutting of the Pentagon of the wire.
