Office of PwC in Hong Kong accepts payment in bitcoin

According to the report of The Wall Street Journal, today in the Hong Kong office of the firm indicated that it accepted payment in connection with its work with local companies working with cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology. It was reported that the deal was made using bitcoin in exchange for consulting services.

Explaining that the step demonstrates how PwC is "using new technologies", PwC Asia-Pacific chairman Raymund Chao said that bitcoin and other established cryptocurrencies had now became more widely accepted forms of settlement.

At the beginning of its activity, PwC has a history with cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology, beginning in 2014.

Beginning with early announcements about the role of bitcoin in promoting innovation in a number of industries, the company has moved into conducting research and offering its own advisory services on this technology.
