North American stock markets close low
The S&P/TSX composite index dropped by 73.08 points and amounted 14,240.02. This could be explained by falling energy, consumer staples and metals and mining stocks.

Almost the same happened it New York, where the Dow Jones industrial lost 19.86 points and stopped at 17,985.19, while the S&P 500 composite index dropped by 3.64 points to 2,115.48.

Elsewhere in commodities, the Canadian dollar lost 0.10 of a cent and amounted 78.66 cents US as the July crude contract went down 67 cents at US$50.56 per barrel

Nevertheless, July natural gas contracts rose by 15 cents at nearly US$2.62 per mmBTU, and July copper contracts fell two cents to US$2.04 a pound.
