No Live Christmas Trees this Year in Nizhny Novgorod
Minin and Pozharsky Squares will be decorated using artificial fir-trees for New Year holidays. Such statement has officially been made by the Head of Nizhny Novgorod City Administration Oleg Kondrashev.

He said that local authorities decided to refuse from live trees in favor of artificial fir-trees which are also very beautiful.
All preparation for New Year celebration will start in the nearest future along with decoration of the city. All works will be completed by the 1st of December. Decoration plan has already been worked out. It includes lots of illuminations and holiday posters.

This year decoration of Nizhny Novgorod will be based on prerevolutionary theme. Posters will display Russian father Frost and his Snow-Maiden. Decorators will try to reflect the atmosphere of the past. Old-school style promises to be in the current interest this year.

We have already informed our readers about the fact that about 10million rubles will be spent on New Year decorations of Nizhny Novgorod. Department of Economic Development, Investments and Business has arranged special auction that will provide one of participants with the right to decorate the capitol of the Volga region. The starting price of the project is 9.5 million rubles. The money will be provided from the city budget.
