Nizhny Novgorod Sports Schools got 1 Million Rubles in 2014

Director of Sports and Youth Department Leonid Strelzov reported that more than 1 million rubles have been forwarded for development of sports schools and physical training centers in 2014. Such statement was made during the meeting devoted to social policy in Nizhny Novgorod.

Almost 990 million rubles were provided on the overhaul of rooms in sports schools which needed repairing. At the same time 35 million rubles were spent on purchase of necessary equipment, sporting inventory and organization of different competitions and other sporting events.

It should also be noted that 38 schools are administrated by local city authorities at the moment. They include sports schools and other physical training establishments. 18 of these establishments are now controlled by the municipality. They used to be State owned by the Government of Nizhny Novgorod region at the beginning of this year.

More than 25 thousand students are visiting sports schools of Nizhny Novgorod. They are able to go info 31 different kinds of sports. 8404 sportsmen have different sports categories and titles. 4 000 of them got their categories while training in 2014. Pedagogical team consists of 718 trainers. 123 of them have the highest sports qualifications and categories.

By the way, students of Nizhny Novgorod sports schools managed to win 17 personal and 3 team prizes in the last year. They included prizes on international championships as well as different European tournaments where sportsmen won 8 personal and 12 team prizes.
