Naftogaz requires Gazprom payments to 26.6 billion dollars

Ukrainian Naftogaz and Russian Gazprom can not resolve their financial claims towards each other. The first court session on their case will be held this autumn in the Stockholm court.

Naftogaz wants to sue Gazprom to 26.6 billion dollars. The Russian side demands from the Ukrainian payout of 38.7 billion dollars.

Gazprom accuses his partner that he didn't pay for delivered gas. At the end of 2015 the debt of Ukraine amounted to $ 2.2 billion.

The remaining amount of the debt formed due to shortage of gas. In other words, Kyiv has not fulfilled the conditions of the contact rules "take or pay".

Note that the litigation between Russia's Gazprom and Ukrainian Naftogaz are drawn in the summer of 2014. By 2020, the amount of claims of the Russian side to Ukraine under the "take or pay" may be more than $ 60 billion.
