“Music of Freedom” will Sound in the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin

World’s famous jazz man and saxophonist Bill Evans has won a lot of prestigious awards including Grammy. He became rather famous while playing in Miles Davis band. He joined it in 1980 when he was only 22 years old. This was the turning point in career of popular musician. He made 4 grand tours together with Davis all over the world. At the same time they introduced 6 records. He also took part in world tours with such popular musicians as John McLaughlin, Mick Jagger, “Step Ahead” band and many others.

Starting from 1990 Evans has been arranging 100 tours per year with his own band. He also recorded 19 single albums. “Dragonfly” is the last one. It was introduced in 2011. This album made it possible for musician to win 2 Grammy awards. He never stopped experimenting during his career. Evan mixed different styles creating his own unique style. Sometimes his music was far away from traditional jazz standards and stereotypes. He mixes such types of music as rock, hip-hop, jam, fusion, soul and slamming funk. Evans was a founder of “Soulgrass” project which was nominated on Grammy in 2006. The main feature of the band is that it unites such styles as soulgrass, jazz, funk and rock in one sound.

Bill Evans Band is the tip of US musical iceberg. It is a unique mixture of rhythms which create a powerful emotional style. All these features are united in one project that is called ”Soulgrass”.

This year popular guitar player Murali Coryell will also join the group. He is a son of a legendary musician Larry Coryell who managed to find his own unique sound. By the way, Murali Coryell was included in the Blues Hall of Fame in 2013. In 2014 he was also nominated on prestigious Blues Music Award.
