Microsoft specialists have worked out new method for saving energy of smartphones and prolonging battery life. This will help to save up to 13% of energy which is rather high result. At the same time it seems to be a great solution n to problem connected with the need to charge phones rather often. The main idea of this method is the fact that every user is able to dim display while operating on the phone. When you use your device, your fingers cover 11% of its surface. It means that these 11% of display are not used. That is why dimming of such spots will make it possible to save additional 13% of energy. However this method will be available for users of smartphones which are equipped with OLED displays. In addition this method is very unlikely to be permanent solution to a problem. However it will be more efficient in combination with other energy saving means that are already available for users. Japanese developers and engineers also tried to make usability of their devices more easy and comfortable. They invented special finger extensions which will make it easy to operate on devices with big screens.
