Lukoil wants to triple gas production at one of its projects in Uzbekistan in 2017

This will almost triple production at it - up to 5 billion cubic meters per year.

At the end of last year, Lukoil attracted a five-year loan of $ 500 million for the Gissar project.

Lukoil works in Uzbekistan on the terms of production sharing agreement (PSA) and, in addition to South-West Gissar, develops projects Kandym, Khauzak, Shady. Investments in Uzbek projects are estimated at over $ 5 billion.

Within the framework of Kandym, it is planned to construct a gas processing plant with a capacity of 8 billion cubic meters per year, which will be launched in 2018, Lukoil reported earlier.

Lukoil in Uzbekistan planned to extract about 16 billion cubic meters of gas a year in the future. The company sells the extracted gas to Uzbekistan, which in turn supplies fuel to Russia, Kazakhstan and China.

In 2016, Lukoil increased its total gas production by 4 percent to almost 25 billion cubic meters.
