Loading on the network of JSC "Russian Railways" (RZD) in April 2017 rose 3.9% compared to the same period of 2016 and amounted to 105.3 million tonnes, it said in a statement.

The turnover for April 2017 increased compared to the same period last year by 8% and amounted to 205 billion tariff ton-km freight Turnover taking into account the mileage of the cars unladen during the same period increased by 7.4% and amounted to 261,2 billion ton-km.

Loading in January-April of 2017, according to operative data, amounted to 410,4 million tons, 3.8% more than in the same period last year.

In particular, the Railways were shipped in January-April 2017 coal - of 119.9 million tons (+9,2% compared to January - April 2016), Cox - 3.7 million tons (+3,5%), petroleum and petroleum products - 80.5 million tonnes (+1%), iron ore and manganese 35.6 million tons (-0,6%), ferrous metals - 23.9 million tons (+0,1%), scrap ferrous metals - 4.1 million tons (+11.9 percent), chemical and mineral fertilizers - 19 million tons (+5.7 percent), cement - 6.9 million tons (-1,4%), timber cargoes - about 15 million tons (+3,7%), grain - 6.7 million tons (+1.8 percent), building materials - 40 million tonnes (-3.7%), nonferrous ore and sulphur raw materials - 6.7 million tons (-0,5%), chemicals and soda - 8.9 million tons (+2.7%) and industrial raw materials and molding materials - 11 million tons (+14.1 per cent). The turnover from the beginning of 2017 amounted to 813 billion tariff ton-km (+7,5%), cargo turnover with consideration of the mileage of the cars unladen 1 trillion 040,8 billion ton-km (+ 7,2%).

Earlier, Vice-President of Russian Railways Salman Babayev said that the company predicts growth of loading in April 2017 3.8%, in may - 3%.
