KPMG joins the group of Blockchain defenders

By joining the non-profit trade association as a corporate member, KPMG will take a place on the board of directors, the press release said. Eamonn Maguire, the world leader in digital ledger services for KPMG, said in a statement that blockchain is a "maturation" for the production cycle and in the future could "significantly affect" the financial industry.

With the existing corporate members including BlockEx, Blockchain Intelligence Group, Calypso, among others, KPMG will use its position in the group work to promote the growth and implementation of distributed ledger technology in all financial markets.

Ron Quaranta, chairman of the WSBA, said that the association looked forward for cooperation with KPMG to begin implementing blockchain innovations in the financial markets and beyond.

This step marked the last efforts of the consortium for KPMG, which last year launched a blockchain services suite, in partnership with Microsoft to further develop the industry and began speaking openly that technology could affect its clients.
