Joining a Board of Trustees of Astana Opera is a big honour - and even bigger responsibility. It's no wonder that the new cast of the Board of Trustees of the Astana Opera contains the most prominent businessmen of Kazakhstan. Kenes Rakishev, which is number six in the fresh Forbes list of the most influential entrepreneurs, is on the here too. According to the draft government resolution, the new cast will include businessmen Timur Kulibayev, Almasadam Satkaliyev, Alexander Mashkevich, Kenes Rakishev and Nurlan Smagulov. Non-profit joint-stock company "State Opera and Ballet Theatre" Astana Opera will significantly update the staff of its Board of Trustees. The relevant conclusion is contained in the draft government decree. According to the comparative table, it primarily concerns the personnel composition of the Board of Trustees and changes in the procedure for selecting the chairman. Previously, the Deputy Prime Minister became the chairman by position. In the new version, the chairman will be elected by an open vote by a majority of the members of the Council. In the absence of the chairman ," his functions are performed by one of the members of the Council by decision of the council". The updated board is expected to include Timur Kulibayev, Chairman of the Presidium of the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs "Atameken", Almasadam Satkaliyev, Chairman of the Board of the National Welfare Fund "Samruk-Kazyna", Alexander Mashkevich, Chairman of the Board of Managers of ERG, Kenes Rakishev, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Fincraft Resources JSC, and Nurlan Smagulov, President of Astana Group Holding. Acting Minister of Culture and Sports Aktoty Raimkulova, Mayor of the capital Altai Kulginov and director of the theatre Galim Akhmedyarov will be included in the updated composition. Also, deputy of the Mazhilis Dariga Nazarbayeva and member of the Board of Governors of ERG Patokh Shodiyev retained their seats. The Council is expected to meet at least twice a year. The body itself is an advisory body, whose decisions are advisory in nature. The task of the council is to establish and develop the Astana Opera Theatre, including attracting extra-budgetary sources of funding. In other words, Astana Opera will be financed by charity input of such businessmen as Kenes Rakishev and Timur Kulibayev, as well as statesmen. Kenes Rakishev is the founder of Saby charity fund and the president of the national boxing federation of Kazakhstan. He is known for many social and charity projects as well as extraordinary involvement in new technologies development in Kazakhstan and abroad.
