International “Snow Day “will be celebrated in Nizhny Novgorod

International “Snow Day “will be celebrated in Nizhny Novgorod
International “Snow Day” is a sports holiday that will also be celebrated in Nizhny Novgorod on 18th of January. Such information is available on the official website of local TV channel.

Sports event will be arranged on the territory of Sormovsky Park. Citizens of Nizhny Novgorod will have a chance to show their skills in skiing. AT the same time they will be offered to complete entertaining obstacle course. Winners will get precious prizes and awards. Moreover children that are going to take part in this event will get a chance to ride all attractions in local theme park for free.

The main condition of taking part in “Obstacle course” competition is to form a team of at least 3 participants. One of the participants is obligatory to be a kid from 6 to 12 years old. Not more than 70 teams can take part in this competition. On the other hand the number of skiers is not limited. You may take part in ski competition in case you have all necessary sports inventory and do not suffer from any serious health problems.

Arrangers of the event also prepared several additional competitions and entertaining programs for all guests of this holiday. For example, participants will be offered to make a sports snowman. The author of the best snowman will get a reward.

The event will start at noon.

International “Snow Day” was firstly introduced in January 2012 by the International federation of Winter Sports. This holiday was firstly arranged in Russia in 2013. It took place only in several regions of the country. It is traditionally celebrated with different competitions, winter carnivals, skiing and skating along with other funny entertainments. The main idea of the event is to make winter sports more popular with youth.
