In RICS denied the request on the ban of several works of Russian classics
In RICS gave a rebuttal to the requirement to ban the Russian schools of a number of works of famous Russian classics. In particular, this applies to short stories "About love" Anton Chekhov, "the Bush" Kuprin and Bunin's story "the Caucasus".

As stated by Vladimir Legoyda, head of the Synodal Department for relations between RICS with society, the Church does not intend to defend the removal of these texts from the school curriculum. However, the opinion of Archpriest Artemy Vladimirov, who expressed the negative attitude to these stories is only his personal point of view. You can agree or not, but this statement should not be construed as the intention of the RICS.

It is worth Recalling that earlier, speaking at a meeting of the Patriarchal Commission on family matters, protection of motherhood and childhood Archpriest Andrey Vladimirov called the listed texts of the classics "time bomb" and called the Patriarchal Commission to apply to the Ministry of education.

According to the priest, Russian literature is rich in works that contribute to the formation of ideal families, however for unknown reason for the school program were chosen those in which "glorifies free love". This statement had a wide resonance.
