Hawthorn is a Symbol of Nizhny Novgorod Region
In the Victory Park of Sevastopol will appear the first Russian Alley. Green symbols of Russian Federation will be planted there. Hawthorn which is the symbol of Nizhny Novgorod region will also be introduced there. The official information is available on the website of the project.

In accordance with this information 43% of Nizhny Novgorod citizens voted for this plant as a symbol of the capital of Volga region. Linden, Tatar maple, corydalis and tetra coral roses have lost in this competition and gained less votes.
At the same time these green symbols will be used for organizing parking zones and other ecological projects. These plants will reflect versatile and rich world of Russian flora and nature.

The first Russian Symbol Alley will be arranged in the Victory Park of Sevastopol. This project will be a symbol of reunion or Crimea and Russia as well as gift to all citizens of this unforgettable city on the Bank of the Black Sea.

Russian Alley is all-Russian ecological project. Citizens of all regions are able to choose the symbol of their region giving their vote for a particular plant. This project was launched in summer 2014 and is still continuing. Citizens are able to choose among all types of plants including trees, bushes, flowers and herbs which are connected with their native region and reflect its culture and history.

The main aim of the project is to show the unity and of Russian people and to increase the emotional connection between them. At the same time it helps to form correct ecological culture and vision of Russian. They learn how to take care of the environment.
