The technology promotion group, co-founded by blockchain services company Bitfury Group, announced today, will hold a blockchain-oriented summit at the European Parliament in Brussels, Belgium, on Wednesday with Eva Kaili, a member of parliament from Greece.
At this event, the council will inform the members of the EU Parliament and representatives of the European Commission about the problems and solutions offered by blockchain technology.
The group, created in January at the annual meetings of the World Economic Forum, serves as a forum for educating government and business leaders on blockchain - a mission emphasized by Kaili in the statements accompanying the opening.
In the opinion of Kaili, such forums open the way for comprehensive cooperation between the private sector and regulators that will allow the development of innovative platforms and intelligent solutions - the maximum potential which blockchain technologies can offer.
In context, the conference is also the latest sign that the EU's governing bodies have shown interest in this technology, conducting hearings, commissioning research and exploring blockchain cases of using.
A common market approach to the technology will have important tailwinds for the development and adoption of the blockchain, said Jamie Smith, chief executive officer of the group of lawyers.
As part of today's announcement of the news, the council also revealed that it has completed its registration in Geneva, Switzerland.
