Russia’s gas exporter Gazprom increased natural gas supplies to Europe and Turkey in October. According to the official data, published by the state-controlled company on Tuesday, October exports rose by 2.3 billion cubic meters. S&P Global Platts informs that Gazprom supplies to European countries and Turkey (except for the former Soviet countries) were 10.7 Bcm higher year on year in the January to September period. The increase of gas exports was mostly contributed to by a growing demand from Turkey. Natural gas supplies from Iran were suspended after an explosion on a pipeline on Turkish territory on Friday, reports http://azinnov.com. "Gazprom fully satisfies the increased requests from Turkey -- in the last four days of October, Russian gas supplies to this country exceeded the month's daily average by 14%," Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller said. In October Russian President Vladimir Putin met with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Ankara to discuss the Turkish Stream project and finally signed the contract. Analysts estimate the deal by US$12.7 billion. |
