Gazprom commits to the development of new gas blocks in Bolivia

Gazprom intends to expand its activities in Bolivia. In the framework of St. Petersburg international economic forum (SPIEF) the gas company will sign an agreement on the study of three areas with gas reserves and have declared interest in developing two more.

Gazprom commits to the development of new gas blocks in Bolivia
In particular, as the Minister of hydrocarbons of the country Luis Alberto Sanchez, Gazprom will study units in the fields of "San Telmo Sur", "San Telmo Norte" and "Astillero". Bolivia attached great importance to the agreements with the Russian company, as I'm sure the parish in these areas of the world's largest gas company means a significant investment.

Note that a year ago, Gazprom, the Ministry of hydrocarbons of Bolivia and the Bolivian company Yacimientos Petroliferos Fiscales Bolivianos (YPFB) signed a roadmap on the implementation of projects in the country, in particular, the exploration, production and transportation of hydrocarbons, and the use of LNG. In addition, there was an agreement to study blocks "La Ceiba", "Madidi and Waiakoa".

Interests of Gazprom in the Bolivian projects is Gazprom EP International B. V. is a specialized company for implementation of foreign projects in the field of prospecting, exploration, and exploitation of hydrocarbons. According to the document, Gazprom EP International B. V. on 1 year gets right to the study of geological-geophysical materials on the specified blocks.
