Gas reserves in Ukrainian UGS amounting to 13,6 billion cubic meters, which is by 2,6 billion cubic meters (or 16,4%) lower than that for the same period last year. The information is reported by the Ukrainian Ministry of Energy and coal industry, published on the department’s site on Wednesday. According to the report, the coal reserves have reduced as well: as at 1st December 2016, 2,366 million tons of coal are stored, which is by 140,9 thousand tons lower than that for the same period last year. The Head of Naftogaz, the Ukrainian state gas company, Andriy Kobolev stated that 13,6 billion cubic meters of gas are enough even in the context of cold snap. During the winter, according to him, they plan to use approximately 50 million cubic meters per day, and 116 day are left until the end of an autumn-winter season. So a little less 8 cubic meters stays in UGS. According to the Head of Naftogaz, Ukraine can spare the direct gas purchase from Gazprom, considering the high supply volumes from Europe. It should be reminded that Ukrainian Naftogaz signed the $500 million loan agreement with international banks with World Bank’s gas purchase guaranties earlier, on 31st December. |
