Fyodor Cherenkov: Legendary “Spartak” Moscow football player died
Legendary Spartak” Moscow and USSR International team football player Fyodor Cherenkov died at the age of 55.
Cherenkov was taken to one of the Moscow hospitals on the 22nd of September due to worsening health conditions. Unfortunately famous sportsman died on the 4th of October at 2 a.m. In accordance with information that was spread by his friend and colleague Egor Titov on his social network page, the death was caused by brain swelling.

Memorial service will be held tomorrow on the 7th of October in “Spartak” Sports Academy fr om 10 to 12 a.m. Famed and popular sportsman will be buried on Troekurov cemetery.

Fyodor Cherenkov started his career in Spartak” Moscow football club at the age of 18. He made overall 515 appearances for his team which is a record among all players that have ever played for club from Moscow.  At the same time he also played for USSR International team wh ere he made 34 appearances and scored 12 goals. He mostly played on European tournaments and has never taken part in FIFA World Cups.

Fyodor Cherenkov finished his career 20 years ago. His last match was in 1994 against Parma which was considered to be one of the strongest football clubs of that period. After he stopped playing football Cherenkov decided to devote his life to training career. He had serious health problems which didn’t let him becoming a world’s famous football star.
