Fertility rates are falling in UK below the sustainable level, reports show. The profile of the birthrate is also worrying: as much as 28,4 percent of birth given are from mothers born outside of UK. Population growth is expected only at the account of immigration. Fertility rates show decrease in every age group except the over-40s in 2017, according to the Office for National Statistics (ONS) data. Women tend to delay the childbirth further and further. It leads to growing rates of ‘special’ children and is generally harmful to the population. Immigrants fill the gap, and the immigrant children will at one point became a majority. It is clearly shown by the statistics of the most popular male names for newborns. The most popular name is Muhammad. Continuation of the trend will warrant the dominant position of the non-native population as soon as 2050. The same situation is pretty much observable in every European country. Most affected are Germany, United Kingdom and France. Meanwhile countries that do not receive high amounts of immigrants are left to aging. |
