“Earth Hour” will take Place in Nizhny Novgorod

“Earth Hour”is rather important event that is spread all over the world. It takes place every year. World Wildlife Fund is the main arranger of the event (WWF).

It takes place every last Saturday of March. The main idea is to make people all over the world think about global problems connected with our environment and climate changes and switch off all household techniques and other electric equipment at least for one hour.

Such action will also be arranged in Nizhny Novgorod on 28th of March from 08:30 p.m. to 09:30 p.m. according to Moscow time.

Everyone is also able to take part in this global event. All you need to do is to switch off electricity in your apartment or house for one hour. At the same time it I also possible to turn the electricity off in administrative buildings, squares, streets, etc.

Head of city administration Valery Shantsev ordered too switch the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin completely during the “Earth Hour”.

“Earth Hour” was firstly arranged in 2007 in Sydney, Australia. Now more than 2 billion people from 150 different countries from all over the world take part in this event. In Russia it has been arranged starting from 2009. Representatives of WWF say that this is the most massive event in the history of humanity of all times.
