Doctors will inform Parents about Abortions made by Underage Children

Doctors will inform parents of underage children about their abortion. The following law was offered for revision by the deputies of State Duma. According to this law parents of underage girls will be informed in case their children want to make abortion. It should be noted that according to the current law parent’s permission is necessary only if the pregnant girl is under 15.

At the same time deputies note that new law will not be presented al limitation of rights when it comes to make decision by underage citizen.

Authors of new law project offer to add additional points to already existing law. According to this point doctors are obliged to inform parents of underage pregnant girl about the fact that she turned to medical establishment for abortion. Authors are certain that such changes will not limit rights of citizens as a girl will still be the one who takes the final decision whether to make abortion or not.

At the same time it should be noted that there appear more initiatives offered by Russian deputies in favor of measures to decrease the number of abortions in the country. Several new law projects have been offered at the same time at the beginning of 2015. Nevertheless none of those initiatives has been approved by the government.
By the way abortion may be excluded from obligatory medical insurance during upcoming spring session of the government.
