Oleg Deripaska has said he has filed a complaint against the US to stop "destroying his life's work." Deripaska is a major shareholder in aluminum giant Rusal. The US measures are aimed at a group of Russians who belonged to President Vladimir Putin's close circle. The restrictions are intended as retribution for the alleged influence of the US elections in 2016 and other "malicious activities" by the Kremlin. Deripaska says in a statement he does not want to allow his hard work to be destroyed by political play. He also points to the millions of jobs at stake. The sanctions would also not be consistent with the American constitution. |
