Citizens of Spain will be allowed adopting Russian Children
Such resolution has been accepted by the deputies of State Duma on the 20th of February. This resolution includes ratification of agreement between Russia and Spain which is related to cooperation in the field of adoption. Such ratification has been made in the end of the previous year.

It should be noted that signing of agreement related to adoption has become obligatory in 2013 when the changes in the Family Code were introduced. According to those changes adoption of Russian children by same-sex families are allowed only in particular occasions.

Spain will become 3rd country that will sign such agreement with Russia. The list also includes Italy and France. According to preliminary information Israel, Ireland, Slovenia, New Zeeland, Cyprus and Malta will be next countries which will also sign such agreement with Russia. Project of agreements for above mentioned countries is being worked out at the moment.

At the same time the Head of State Duma Committee which deals with family questions Elena Mizulina said that agreement with Spain is another evidence of the fact that Russia is eager to meet all necessary international standards and requirements as well as provide children all possible facilities and opportunities. The main goal is to provide them with happy family life and future perspectives.
