Citizens of Nizhny Novgorod could witness Aurora Polaris

Citizens of Nizhny Novgorod as well as several other Russian cities and regions had a perfect chance to witness Aurora Polaris last night. This is a unique natural phenomenon which attracts a lot of people with its beauty. It is followed by Solar Eclipse which is expected to start on May 20th.

Aurora Polaris is rather rare natural phenomenon for Nizhny Novgorod region. But this time it could be seen by every citizen of Volga region capitol. This natural miracle could also be seen from Moscow, St. Petersburg and other parts and regions of Russian federation. The last time when Aurora Polaris could be seen from Nizhny Novgorod was September 2014. Unfortunately people were not able to enjoy that outstanding picture due to cloudy weather.

If the weather is clear and shiny on March 20th, citizens of Nizhny Novgorod will be able to witness another beautiful natural phenomenon. Solar eclipse is expected to start as 12:26 p.m. and will last till 2:36 p.m. It will reach its maximum phase at 1:27 p.m. Local planetariums are well-prepared for such memorable occasion. Their educational programs include lectures about solar eclipse. At the same time they arranged special spots where all visitors can overview this natural phenomenon. At the same time specialists reminded of necessary precautions which are obligatory. Special light filters should be used in order not to damage eyesight.
