Cisco received a patent for Bitcoin mining
Cisco Network Technology giant on Tuesday, April 24, 2018, issued a patent that can be used for mining bitcoins. The patent application was submitted by the company almost three years ago, in September 2015. Then it was a question of a system of "collective cloud computing."
The patent provides information on how computer equipment owners could offer their unused computing power for some processes - in particular, for energy-efficient mining, cryptocurrency. The document describes how the user can share his power with the cloud application. The latter, in turn, can be used for various purposes.

As explained in Cisco, among other things, this model is suitable for creating proposals for distributed data processing and opening sites that need optimization regarding speed, volume, scale, stress resistance, cost and compliance with regulations. They can be represented by distributed systems of protection against theft or related cluster, city or municipal services.
