China: "We have never sought trade surplus with the United States"
This is evidenced by China customs. Imports to China increased by 20.3% in March comparing with growth of more than 38% in February.

The positive balance of trading balance of China in US dollar terms was 29,93 billion in March. Meanwhile, the surplus in the trade balance of China with the United States rose to nearly $ 18 billion in March from $ 10 billion in February,

The official representative of the Ministry of Commerce of China explains: “The violation of the trade balance between China and the United States depends on three factors: differences in the structure of the economy, competition in the industry and the division of labor. China has never sought trade surplus with the United States. Yes, it is a positive balance in the account of China, but trade brings equal benefits to both parties. China is willing to increase imports from the United States in accordance with the actual demand in the domestic market.”

In the interview with the Wall Street Journal the US President Donald Trump said that in the semi-annual report of the U.S. Treasury, which is expected on 15 April, China will be named as a currency manipulator.

Last week the US and China have agreed to a 100-day plan for trade negotiations to increase U.S. exports and reduce the trade surplus of China with USA.
