Carter Ashton Joined Torpedo Hockey Club from Nizhny Novgorod, Russia

24-year Canadian forward Carter Ashton will join Nizhny Novgorod Torpedo hockey club. He signed a contract with his new team on July 21. He also has experience of playing in NHL.

In 2009 he was chosen during first round of draft by Tampa Bay Lightning. Later he moved to Toronto Maple Leaves in 2012 where he made 54 appearances. However, Carter returned to Tampa in February 2015 where he played in AHL scoring 3 goals and making 11 assists during 32 appearances this season.

Ashton also played in U18 Canadian international hockey team in 2009 and later was invited to play in U21 team to take part in the World Championship 2011. That years his team one silver medals.
