Financial director Shou Zi Chew takes a step back at ByteDance to fully focus on his role as CEO at subsidiary TikTok. News agency Reuters wrote this on Tuesday based on an internal memo from the company. According to Reuters, Bytedance wants to split into six divisions, including TikTok, Douyin and gaming venue Nuverse. As part of this, Shou Zi Chew resigns as CFO of Bytedance, but remains the CEO of TikTok. Earlier this year, it was announced that co-founder of Bytedance, Zhang Yiming, would abandon his role as CEO of the company. He remains chairman of the board with more than 50 percent of the voting rights. Co-founder Liang Rubo, who sent the internal memo, will take over Zhang's chair as of December this year. In his memo, Liang did not discuss plans to find a replacement for the CFO position for Bytedance. |
