BlackBerry will stop supporting its classic phones on Tuesday. BlackBerry phones that do not work with Android will no longer function properly. Calling, surfing the internet and texting will no longer be possible in a reliable way from today. The cessation of support was announced as early as 2020. Blackberry then said that old phones would no longer work on January 4, 2022. The company recently recalled this in a blog post. "From that date, BlackBerry's services will no longer function reliably, for example in the areas of the internet, making calls, texting and reaching emergency services." The BlackBerry 9000 series, The BlackBerry Classic and the BlackBerry Passport, among others, lose their functions. Newer Blackberry devices, such as Privacy and Motion, run on Android and continue to work. |
